Neurofeedback is a type of therapy that uses technology to help you learn how to regulate your brainwaves. It works by using sensors placed on your scalp to monitor your brain activity, and then providing you with visual or auditory feedback about that activity.
A Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) is a specific type of neurofeedback therapy that uses very low-intensity electromagnetic waves to help regulate brain activity.
Unlike traditional neurofeedback, which uses sensors to measure brainwaves and provide feedback, LENS does not require active participation from the patient. Instead, the LENS system emits a low-level electromagnetic signal that interacts with the brain and helps to regulate its activity.
This electromagnetic signal is believed to stimulate the brain's natural self-regulatory mechanisms, helping to reduce overactivity in certain areas of the brain and improve communication between different regions.
LENS has been used to treat a variety of conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and chronic pain. The therapy is generally considered safe and non-invasive, although it may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with a history of seizures or certain medical conditions.
